QU'EST-CE QUE LE CUIR TANNÉ AU VÉGÉTAL ?

OUR LEATHER - TANNED IN EUROPE

WHAT IS VEGETABLE TANNED LEATHER?

"Tanning" refers to the process that turns an animal's hide into leather. "Vegetable" refers to the natural materials used in the tanning process, such as bark, branches and leaves, which produce beautiful earthy tones. Vegetable tanning, as it is sometimes called, is one of the oldest tanning methods known to man, and also the most expensive. It takes weeks, even months, to complete the process. Vegetable tanned leathers are also known for their durability and beautiful aging markings known as "patina" - the aged look of the leather gets better with time. Vegetable tanned leathers are known to develop the best patinas.

ALL LEATHERS START WITH RAW MATERIALS.

We use cowhide because we produce products with thick leather and demand the highest quality cuts. European cattle are among the most sought after in the world because of their exceptional diet and lifestyle. Through a combination of raw hide selection and the skill of the tannery craftsmen, the result is premium leather that will last for generations to come.

WHAT IS DRUM DYEING?

Drum dyeing is the process of immersing hides in massive rotating drums for hours. This ensures complete and even penetration of natural minerals and tannins such as bark, branches and leaves.
